Metropolitan Houston Chapter
Chevron Retirees Association
As has been our practice at previous holiday events, we were please to award numerous door prizes courtesy of Chevron. We had Corkcicle insulated "adult sippy cups" and $50 Chevron gift cards. And the grand prize, courtesy of the chapter, was a $100 gift card. The slide show below captures the beaming winners!
We took time to recognize a number of long-serving chapter officers and directors who have decided to step down to enjoy the rest of their retirement and to make way for a new generation of volunteers. Each was presented with a scroll saw portrait done by our own George Treibel.
2022 City-wide Holiday Event - December 13, 2022
After a long lapse owing to COVID-19 and the closure of the HESS Club, we were pleased to resume city-wide events with a Holiday Event at the Cadillac Bar on December 13, 2022. Over 200 attendees registered for this event, including chapter members, their guests, and Chevron guests.
The folks at the Cadillac Bar, especially Sales & Event Manager Becky Newton (in blue dress below), did an outstanding job in making our group feel welcome. Our group filled both their party rooms, the Laredo Room and the Party Shack.
Special recognition was afforded retiring president Glenn Ewan, who served for seven years, and his wife Lorraine. Glenn was presented with a George Treibel scroll saw portrait and a working model of a pump jack. Lorraine received a carriage lamp snow globe.
We also took time to present President's Awards to volunteers for their "outstanding contribution to the success of the Metropolitan Houston Chapter".
In addition to our featured guest speaker, we also were pleased to host several Chevron employees from Public Affairs and a representative from the Houston Food Bank.
We were honored to have as our guest speaker, Manish Misra, VP - Strategy, Chevron New Energies. He gave us a briefing on current activities in his unit.
"Chevron expects to triple our lower carbon capital versus prior guidance to over $10 billion between now and 2028"
